These dates are for 2006 only and will change for 2007. Remember, an ad is entitled to the LUC only if it is considered a use. If it is not a use, then regular rates apply as they do for all issue only ads. The Rat Has A New GSMGreater Media, New Jersey has announced that Marjory C. Gugliemo has been named general sales manager of WRAT-FM, Belmar. Guglielmo has been with Greater Media’s Garden State operations for nine years. She previously was the general sales manager for Oldies 100. Prior to that, she was a sales executive at WRAT-FM and worked at both CBS in New York and WCAU-AM, in Philadelphia. National Radio Revenue UpThe RAB reports that National radio revenue continues to rebound, with February’s numbers up 4%. Local sales still suffering by dropping 3% compared to a year ago. Most broadcasters blame the local drop on the lack of both Auto and Bank advertising. Meanwhile, Non-Spot Revenue jumped a huge 12% compared to Feb 2005. Overall, radio revenue for February was down 1%. Major FCC Actions StalledThanks to Senator Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia, the nomination of Commissioner McDowell has been placed on hold. The hold means that no action can take place on the McDowell nomination until Rockefeller releases his hold. Meanwhile, the FCC is tied up with a two to two situation between Democrats and Republicans. Major issues that need the FCC’s attention cannot get done because Chairman Martin does not have a majority of Republicans. Two major areas on hold are the Newspaper/Broadcast Cross-Ownership rules and the TV rules struck down by the District Court in Philadelphia. Although Chairman Martin has called for change in the cross ownership rules, he needs a third Republican vote to get it done. Register NowOnline registration for the Mid-Atlantic States
