Big City Is No More
All of the Stations that made up the Big City Quadracast around New
York on 107FM are now owned by Nassau Holdings, Inc. Nassau Holdings is the private
company of Lou Mercatanti and not the company that owns the other stations (which is
Nassau Broadcasting Partners, Inc.). The company is keeping the Belvidere property
and spinning off the rest of the stations. They are located in Long Branch,
Westchester, NY and Eastern Long Island. These three are being sold to different
broadcasters.
QuickNews has learned exclusively that the Long Branch property is
being sold to a New Jersey based company that already has several properties at the shore.
QuickNews could not reach a company principal by deadline to confirm. Expect the Long
Branch station to be back on the air today, in an LMA with the new owners. The other two
stations are being sold to out of state broadcasters.
In other Nassau News, no word yet on what the new format for WEMG-FM,
Egg Harbor City, will be. Expect an
announcement from Nassau in a week or so.
