The meeting will conclude with a working luncheon. All stations attending will have ample time to ask questions. To Sue Or Not To Sue

NJBA together with the other state associations will be meeting in Washington, DC on Friday, March 21, 2003 to decide if the State Associations will once again take the FCC to court over its EEO Rules.  The State Associations have a regularly scheduled meeting at that time and this item will be first on the agenda.  NASBA is concerned about the FCC’s authority to compete with the EEOC and make rules, and further, about the paperwork burden that local stations would be subject too. Stay tuned.

Billing Ahead

For the third straight month in a row, Radio billings averaged double-digit growth. According to the RAB, the growth for November was 10%. Local contributed 7% and national a whopping 23%. Gary Fries, RAB Prez expects the trend to continue for December. RAB is on a roll.  The Sales Conference in New Orleans, scheduled for the end of January, is running 150% ahead of projections.  The Hyatt, the convention hotel, has been sold out for weeks.  If you plan to attend and do not have hotel accommodations, say hello to the Holiday Inn.

AFTRA Complains Again
